LAKE KOOCANUSA AND LIBBY DAM
Looking for adventure? Take an afternoon or a few days exploring
Libby Dam and the 90 mile long Lake Koocanusa, only 20 minutes from downtown Libby. Enjoy the spectacular scenery
from the top of the dam itself, or stop by the visitor center which has picnic tables and modern facilities to
make your experience more pleasurable. For those of you wishing to view Lake Koocanusa in all its pristine beauty,
head north on Highway 37. Along this scenic highway look for osprey and bald eagle nests standing high above the
water and grazing big horn sheep on the slopes above the highway. This highway is an excellent 100 mile-long bicycle
tour with many scenic turnouts.
